Addiction to light
Sitting in the sunshine gazing at a quiet, peaceful Pacific, the delightful sound of conversation behind me, laughter and friends, I am greedy for the sun’s rays to warm me.
Not just to warm my body, but to saturate my being. To creep into the dark places, the hollows. The failures and disappointments, broken dreams, lost threads. To penetrate deep into old wounds. To drown my being in her glorious light.
Drinking in light like a wild alcoholic.
Thankfully, her supply is infinite. My capacity to consume light is equally infinite.
And from this addiction to light I only beget more light.
Another round please, on the house.
