Beauty if the great humbler

It punched me in the chest this morning. The beauty of this sunrise.

The waves a trauma of swell, floods, debris, foam. Everything jumbled up to enhance the wild beauty.

Chaos is like that. That exquisite organising principle, the strange attractor, like this sunrise, reminds me of something far greater than my petty complaint of the day.

Beauty if the great humbler, if we but pause to let it in, to let beauty work our bones, shatter the hardening of our heart, pierce our fear.

Against the terrible events of this day, the sunlight and her breathtaking welcome performance restored in me the thread of hope as her beauty had her way with me.
