Composting the personal
There is something about this time of year that has me spontaneously clean out.
It is as if I need to edit, delete, clean, create space…as a natural impulse before the new year.
The spirit of cleaning out and throwing away possesses me like a force.
My digital photo album, my computer, the garage, my files, clothes….all up for radical cleansing.
Not a drawer, not a room, nothing passes my determination to clean.
I am not the same person who walked into 2020 on January 1st. What I need, what I want, what aids my well-being, is not what was required 12 months ago.
This is my snake skin shedding time.
So much, including identity from past roles, being composted.
It is an act of self love. And in the act, an invitation for the new to enter into a spacious, open place.
