From boundless energy to none.
From glittering reputation to spoiled.
From knowing your place to falling into an abyss.
From a runner to injured.
A thousand ways to be reduced. And in the fall to re-order priorities. To question what is truly important.
To value that which you have lost that was so easily taken for granted.
Reduction is transformation, if we let it work us. If, in the moments of no ground, we find one single place to trust there might be ground. Not the familiar ground, but substance to hold us.
To be reduced is a gift. Hard to live through, vital to remind us of our tenuous humanity.
