Energy Bank Account

I have a very useful tool to consider our personal energy and investment. It is called the energy bank account.

Imagine our energy can be either a debt or a credit.

Energy debt comprises things like anger, vengeance, cheating, lies, corruption, lack of integrity, and promises made and broken – to self or others. It can include choosing to be the victim, living in blame, and not taking responsibility.

Energy credit comprises integrity, being your word, holding yourself to account, speaking up, keeping your promises, and being respectful to yourself and others. It includes using difficult situations as the lever for our personal resilience development in every area. Courage. Kindness.

Each time we lie to ourselves – make a promise we do not keep – we make a deposit into our energy bank account debt.

When I first started using this tool, I was so far into energy debt it was scary. I felt it in my emotional and physical being. I had the Sisyphean sack of boulders on my back, every single day, and I never made any progress.

Just to get back to zero – no debt, no credit – took commitment. 

I love the feeling of energy credit. I love waking up without the burden. 

It is the ultimate freedom. Energy credit means we live light.
