Happiness is a solid joy is a liquid

So said J.D. Salinger.

Happiness is solid, steady. Rooted. When present, it lives in the whole of us.

Joy is like effervescent bubbles that manifest somewhere deep in our gut. Once present, they need to come to the surface, bringing our skin, our smile, our being, alive.

Joy is dance, movement. We leak bubbles of joy, for joy cannot be contained.

It is almost impossible to be present to someone oozing joy and not feel joy arise within.

It is one of the most delicious and vital contagions.

To be present to collective joy is a soul yearning.

The obvious secret is that every one of us has the capacity to spread the joy virus.

Let’s do it.
