Heartbreak
At what we are doing to our home planet.Â
For flood and fires.Â
Extinction.
Plastic mountains.
Drought.
Land no longer able to sustain any form of existence.
Soon, too soon, we will all be climate refugees.
Beachfront properties still go for the highest price. As if we can build a bigger wall.
As if money can buy us out. As we deny and deny, continuing with business-as-usual.
My heart breaks. I think of what we have left for our children.Â
Do we know no shame?
I feel for those who didn’t create this, and yet they are at the most effect. People and creatures.Â
We can do better. At what point do we call enough?
