Integrity in action.
A virtual team works on a project over months, and a breach of trust occurs when a sensitive piece of data is shared outside the team with damaging consequences.
The leader immediately alerts the team to the breach and to a violation of trust within the team. Within an hour the person who enacted the breach calls themselves out and takes full responsibility.
At this point the leader doesn’t throw the book of shame and retribution – instead, they simply say that the fact that the whole issue has surfaced and the breach of trust resorted within an hour is an indication of the health of the team.
The team learns the valuable lesson and becomes a stronger team.
This…this is leadership. Team. Trust. Integrity.
Imagine a world where this is the operating system.
