It was a good morning
A few days ago, I was so frustrated with my surfing. I was discombobulated. Arms and legs and balance uncoordinated.
Today I had one of my best surf sessions ever.
It helped that the waves were just right for my level of surfing.
A practice, be it surfing, meditation or yoga, is like a wave. Sometimes smooth and easy, other times rough and challenging.
Giving the practice space is necessary. Let the session go, and step into the new session without residue carrying over.
That mind of mine today was flowing with fun and joy. That helps. When we latch on to frustration, and allow it to occupy our state, then we eliminate the possibility of flow.
I need to remember this and set an intention to have fun every time.
Today I gave myself permission to acknowledge progress. I was catching waves in a crowd, knowing I could navigate through the people.
It helps that some of the people are regulars, and there is an easy camaraderie.
There were dolphins and previous surf world champions to watch.
The sunrise was amazing from the water. Unfortunately captured in my mind and not digitally.
I was with my love, sharing the joy, beauty and fun.
It was a good morning. One of the best.
