Let it go

The story goes around and around in your head.

It wakes you. You examine it like you would a piece of pottery, from all angles, trying to understand why and what and how.

You send it to the outer reaches of your being, but there it is again.

Days go by and the pain lessens a little. You might see the nuance you missed when the pain was raw.

The distance gives you perspective.

But still, there it is. A fester.

The practice is to let the thought go as it arises. Let it go.

There it is again.

Let it go. Repeat.

In ten years’ time, it might not even be a memory.

And towards the larger arc of your life, it might not be critical at all.

Let it go.
