Listen with our whole being

When a relational dynamic is dissonant or there is a loss of coherence, listening become essential.

To listen…

With ears only. Not enough.

With an open heart only. Not enough.

With an open mind only. Not enough.

With curiosity only. Not enough.

To understand. Not enough.

To affirm. Not enough.

We must listen with our whole being. We must listen to the silence in between. To the words not expressed. To the whole context. To the missing pieces. To our fear and insecurity. To what we did not know, understand or perceive.

We must listen until everything has been said, expressed, felt and experienced.

This type of listening works equally well when we apply it to ourselves.
