The in-between
The place between an action taken, an invitation offered, and the response.
When we make an offer by removing any form of manipulation, coercion, seduction or blackmail, the invitation enables sovereign choice.
We might long for the invitation to be accepted. We might seek to impose our will. Yet to make a clear offer, to answer questions, to stand in our ability to back the offer and its promise, and then to allow the guest choice, is to create respect in the relationship.
The in-between is the place to give up our attachment to the offer being accepted, to allow Kairos time to play its hand, to know that we have done our part.
