To exhale
Holding the space for good, for a positive outcome and for hope is an act that we can only really know the extent of once we no longer need to hold.
To exhale when the news is good. When the event is complete, when the game is over, and in the exhale, feel the collapse of all that was being held.
I have often wondered why we never speak of this intentional holding as either a skill or something of extraordinary value.
Maybe because it is invisible, and, therefore, so easy to discount?
Yesterday I exhaled. I had some idea of the tension and intention I was holding. It was far more than I knew.
