Where am I closed
In a world that seems to be at the extremes of polarisation, the time now is to cultivate our ability to deeply seek to understand another.
Why are they taking this position? How did they arrive at this perspective? Where are they open to another perspective? Where are they closed? When they say something, why do I react so strongly to this? What is it within me that is so polarised to this position of theirs? Where am I open? Where am I closed? What do I fight for, and why?
Our curiosity about another’s experience enables a different engagement. No longer adversarial. Interested.
The curiosity of our own reaction to another invites our own development.
Our liberty comes from choosing what we care about, rather than being reactive to something.
