Worth risking

Worth risking

But if in your fear you would seek only love’s peace and love’s pleasure.

Then it is better to cover your nakedness and pass out of love’s threshing floor,

Into that seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears. Gibran

Immature love has the qualities of grasping, desperation, and lack. It comes from need.  We seek to control. Possess. We want the other to conform. Obey. Change.

Mature love needs nothing from except presence.

No change required.

It seeks for wholeness. The union is synergistic. Far more is generated from the union than existed as separate individuals.

The path to mature love is a journey towards our own wholeness. It takes commitment, effort. Along the path, we refine the parts of us that have been damaged. We love our own contrasts.

It is worth risking almost everything.
