Do you trust yourself

Do you trust yourself

Life is a series of building blocks of routine and commitments.

The undisciplined life is chaos, inconsistency and searching for something solid.

People often confuse discipline with rigidity and lack of freedom. Discipline is to be a disciple unto the self.

When we establish disciplines we affirm self as worthy of solid ground, foundations upon which to build a life.

Within the container of your established disciplines, there is a field of play and creativity.

To break the pattern of disciplines, to break a routine, there is a moment, a question, that exposes your soft underbelly. Do you trust yourself to return to the discipline the next day, after the routine has been broken?

If not, better to not break the discipline.

To know that you will return, that you have made a higher commitment to self, is to trust yourself.
