Yes to recognition
Consider the times when you have not been seen. People talk right over you. Your opinion is ignored.
When there are decisions to be made about matters that you know about, your voice is sidelined.
Systemic and cultural dismissal of whole sectors of society, including our creatures and Earth, builds division and keeps us separate. In that separation, we find the terror of loneliness wrapped in the illusion of domination.
To heal this, it is time for us to say yes to recognition.
To bring all voices to the table. To listen to the silenced. To pull back on our entitled view that we know better.
Wisdom is not found in consensus. It is found in deep listening to the whole, and integrating solutions from the field of the whole.
*In Australia, we are facing a referendum to allow the voices of our First Nations people a place in our constitution. This is a necessary start to begin a process of recognition. I vote Yes.
