The full measure of moral courage
To be committed to higher principles like integrity, truth, trust, dignity, respect, justice for all, kindness, all-care, non-exploitation, becomes an act of moral courage.
Not words, but actions. To live your principles in all things, knowing that they will be tested, as all principles of any worth are tested.
Moral courage is rare. Therefore, it is also incredibly attractive to those numbed by endless moral bankruptcy.Â
So often, we swallow the untruth that we do not have the power to effect change. We sit on the sidelines, paralysed, while the world burns and blows up.
Those who live their moral courage as non-negotiable to their existence believe they have agency and the ability to make a difference.
Moral courage and agency are complementary pairs.
If your current experience is helplessness or hopelessness, dig deep. What moral courage can you bring to light? What are the principles of your existence that allow you to respect yourself?Â
Act from here, every time.
When you do, you will find your agency.
