Not strategy

Go here, do this. Nice. Neat. Linear. 

It never works. Nature does zigzag. Linear doesn’t exist. We all know this when implementing a strategy. Take the first step, and we need to change the strategy.

Leaders spend an enormous amount of time creating the strategy, then having their people execute it. 

They rarely ask what their people might need to complete the strategy. How they might need to feel in order to do it well. What kind of support is required? 

Do they need to be courageous? Cautious? Act with urgency? How about if they make a mistake?  Dare they make a mistake? 

The strategy deck never includes these elements. The leader rarely sets the scene for the emotions required, like courage. Or resilience. Or integrity, even against overwhelming odds and pressures.

Indeed, it is rare for a leader to trust that their people will be able to not only devise a potential strategy, but they also will be able to respond with courage and wisdom when the zig to the zag happens, which it will.

In Syntropic World, we do not create a strategy. We create a clear purpose, an inviolate set of principles, and a culture of high trust and synergy. This enables people to know where we are going, know what matters most in getting there, and be able to take responsibility for how we get there, zigging and zagging as required, working with emergence with wisdom.

Not strategy. Design the architecture of trust. Know where you are going. The direction is clear to all. Take the first step. Assess. Repeat.
