The sweet spot for creativity to arise

The sweet spot for creativity to arise is:

Within boundaries. Creativity loves constraints. Even though we may not like them and seek instead unfettered conditions and a wild abundance of money and time in order to create.

With space. Creativity loves a vacuum. An empty field. A white page. Boredom.

These two conditions might appear contradictory. They are not.

It is within the tension of the boundary and the space within that creativity thrives.

Design a deadline. Instigate financial constraints. Start and end your day with habits and structures – every day the same habit and structure.

Then give yourself the white page equivalent. Unplug. Go for a walk. Get bored. Daydream. Do something far removed from the creative endeavour.

Let the bubbles of creativity arise from the field cultivated.
