A full cup

Great work is sacred work. It calls our being to act.

A call is different to possession, for possession, like addiction, is to be lost to something to the degree that our authorship is gone. Too many people are caught in the addiction and possession of chasing what they perceive as success.

A call pulls naturally and spontaneously. It nudges you out of bed in midwinter, when it is still cold and dark, the call of something greater than self.

Great work is in service to others, to the future, to beauty.

To do great work in honour of the work, we must also fill our cup with time, space and soul nourishment. Deep connection with others, with ourselves, with the sound of the emergent, are necessary ingredients.

There must be many moments when we saturate our being in beauty.

Where our schedule is empty.

Where the sounds of the birds draw us away from the computer.

Today I fill my cup.
