Ah, but can you say you made a mistake?

Feb 1, 2025

Ah, but can you say you made a mistake?

A person with great character will own their mistakes publicly.

A person with a small or non-existent character cannot or will not ever admit mistakes, choosing instead to pretend perfection. Or to blame everyone else.

To be able to say – I made a mistake – is an act of humanity. I am human. I am imperfect. I made a mistake. It requires integrity, honesty and courage.

Integrity. Honestly. Courage.Qualities missing in action in our global political and business leadership.

When I look for leadership at any level, I look for the capacity and ability to be humble in our humanity and to admit our mistakes.

If it is not to be found, then I lose all respect for that leader.
