Are the systems we have now controlling us?
They are.
Like a culture, we cannot see the capture of socialisation and systems upon our thinking.
We cannot see the worldview we have from our inside. It can only be seen from outside by someone else.
Yet how often do we structure people around us to give us feedback and challenge us on our responses within a worldview that we did not choose? A worldview that, like a spell, was cast over a period of time, drip by drip.
It is not so much AI that is dangerous. It is that we are oblivious to the drugged mind and worldview we have as a result of our scrolling.
We cannot see the effects of the CoolAide because we cannot see the CoolAide.
We might begin by acknowledging that every human who has a screen has been captured. To varying degrees, but captured no less.
Once we find ourselves in captured territory, let us collaborate together to see and speak to those around us of their capture, and invite them to do the same with us.
The feedback may be hard to stomach.
