Art of the deal
Some believe he is a supreme deal-maker.Â
His form of dealing is with a bludgeon. Threat. Intimidation. Mafia-like.Â
It is a win-lose game; he is the winner, and everyone else be damned.Â
We have brought this sick story, that this is how the game is played. With a bludgeon of cruelty.Â
We play along. Intimidated. Threatened. Individuals. States.Â
We agree to the rules, relinquishing any principles we might have as we nod.Â
What prison does agreement have us live in? One where we are less than we were, our integrity now wears a fracture, a little atrocity of violation now resides, like a silently, patiently waiting virus, in our biology. Ever so slowly maturing, until our being is infested with poison.
We might feel we have to say yes. The Danish King refused to say yes to Hitler’s demand that Danish Jews identify themselves with an arm band. In the process of finding their moral courage, they prevented the death of Danish Jews..
Morality is easy in sunshine. It is in the darkest hour that our character is revealed.Â
The bully with the bludgeon still exists because so many have failed to find their moral courage. So he gets away with everything.
And that is on all of us.Â
Not art of the deal, art of the bludgeon wielding cruelty.
Say yes to the ‘deal’ and pay a price too high.
