Whether it is asking for help on how to get from point A to point B..

Asking for help on how to deal with a deeply painful personal experience…

Asking for help on something that you just don’t seem to get…

Asking for help when you feel that your back is against the wall…

It matters not what the situation is…

Asking for help is not a sign of weakness. It’s a sign that you are a member of the human race.

Weakness is when you don’t ask because you want to project that you are strong. Being constantly strong is impossible…no human has that capacity. Life reduces us all.

Asking for help makes you human, and a leader who is human is a leader we can relate to. Besides, when you are asked for help, and you are able to help, you are likely to feel more valued, more part of the team. People like to help.

Best way to ask for help…start with…”I need help.” or…”I am hoping you might be able to help me?”

This week I had to ask for help from a few people. It was raw and real. I was completely embraced in support from many people. The response affirmed me.

Truth is, most people want to see other people thrive.

The offer to help reconnects us to what matters most. Human to human, heart to heart..relationship. An organisation that has these kinds of real relationships is one where there will also be loyalty, dedication, service above and beyond the call of duty.

Stop playing superman/woman. Ask for help.
