Complimentary pairs even by calendar

May Day. Beltane. The first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, the first day of autumn in the South.

It is also my love’s birthday.

Both of us were Southern Hemisphere born, he the first day of autumn, me the first day of spring. Complimentary pairs even by calendar.

If the heavens had a song of seasons, it would sing ours. I could never have imagined such harmony in a relationship.

Meeting later in life, we know what matters most. Worry is for major things like health. All the minor peccadillos of personality get swept into the river of irrelevant.

Laughter is ever present, bursting at the seams from daily joy that threads our relationship so thoroughly.

When I was a child, I was deeply captivated by the movie Camelot. I remembered the May Day celebrations. The Maypole dance. The young women running through the fields bursting with life. It was my romantic fantasy.

Little did I know that half a century later, May Day would have such significant meaning in my life.

The beauty of this is being with my love makes me feel like running through the fields, alive and forever youthful. Indeed, you will often find me running and laughing through fields, on the beach, and dancing in the kitchen.

Happy Birthday Tony, each day with you is treasured. My respect and love for you expand with every moment.
