Courage and integrity
Go hand in hand.
When a business, team, group, political party or collective of any kind steps over a member or members of that group who violates integrity, allowing the violation to go unchecked, they are endorsing that act of violation.
We get the standard we step over.
Many studies have shown that the force of the consensus opinion is great. We want to remain part of the in-group. We want to hold to the party line, the family line. We want our elder, be that parent, teacher, leader…to be right. So we stay silent.
To speak up, to be a stand for integrity, is an act of courage.
In speaking we might become a pariah in our ‘home’ group.
What price integrity?
