Easy, challenging, hard

Often times the skills that come easily to us, we discount. Minimal effort is required. We fail to account for the years of application and the often inborn fluency. What we find easy, another finds hard.

We place a higher value on what is harder for us to achieve.

The intention to move through the phase of hard to easy, to have what we are lacking in fluency reach a stage of flow and fluency, requires a commitment.

The irony is that even in those first few months or years of being a novice at a skill, relaxing into the experience, being playful, having fun, letting go of effort, is likely to be the fastest way to learn.

Yoda was right. Do, or do not. There is no try.
