Exhale

Often times we do not know we have been holding our breath. Not breathing in deeply because life has us clutching a real or imagined precipice.

Tension. Holding. Expectation. The long slow slog of making it through a difficult time.

This holding, be that holding a hope, an intention, a community together….is a form of inhale.

The place in-between the in and out breath, that liminal space, has its own pattern. It lives in a question mark. Unknown. Unformed. Absent identity.

Filled with a torrent of emotions….hope, fear, anxiety, uncertainty, anticipation, paralysis.

To exhale, to release, to collapse our lung’s body being, is to realise just how deeply we have inhabited the space between, often for hours, weeks, days, years.

Exhale itself has a pattern and a host of emotions. Relief, surrender, exhaustion…

It heralds the beginning of a new dawn.

But first, to restore and regenerate, to reflect and learn.

Exhale all the trapped and held in, and in doing, create the vacuum for the new to arrive.
