Imagine a better future together
When the systems and structures deliberately reduce humans to utilities, commodities, or numbers in a spreadsheet, when the profit-maximising machine discards life, we do not need to fear AI.
The fear arrived long before AI.Â
When the supposed titans of AI say publicly that AI will not survive if they cannot steal all the work of artists, we know the Rubicon has been crossed. Our precious work is the 2025 version of rampant colonisation. Exploit and extract for the very few.
Into the ocean of precarity and fear, the pot is deliberately and relentlessly stirred by the politicians and right-wing Christian extremists.Â
We hate on each other. We turn on each other. To the glee of Moloch and the greedy profiteers.
To keep conquered, keep divided.Â
My heart breaks. One thousand times. And one thousand times more.
If we cannot find a pathway to imagine a better future together, we, the divided, discarded, erased from worth people, of all castes, against the forces of a machine designed to dehumanise and break, then there is no hope.
This is the divide we must cross. We must sit with each other as witnesses to our shades of erasure and fear, staying steady against our desire to blame our brothers and sisters, uncles and aunties, who have had different but still violent perpetrations against them.
This is hard, oh so worthy work. To grieve, move through anger, and not leave the room, or if leaving, return.
This is our work. The profound commitment and conversation for a future that dignifies us all.
Without this gritty work, Moloch wins and will consume us all.
