It makes no sense
Tragedy does that. Strips rationality, the neat linear goals of life, the measurable, the sensible.
Tragedy makes no sense. It is beyond comprehension. Beyond understanding.
It breaks us into a million pieces. And then a million more.
To emerge from tragedy is to emerge reassembled. Never again able to trust the rational as the sole arbiter of our lives.
The only way through tragedy is to embrace the mystery, the void, the larger pattern that we will never fully know.
To make peace with tenuousness.
To treasure each moment as our potential last.
My heart breaks into a million pieces for those people clutched in a wave of incomprehensible tragedy. May you eventually find peace.
