Let’s be sure we account for love as we do money
Oh, we humans have problems. So many. How easy it is to despair.
But there are many things we can do, starting right now.
We can refuse to play the game of measuring everything by how much money it is worth. We can begin to account for the whole value of everything, including precious moments and glorious experiences…
…and love…let’s be sure we account for love. And beauty. And kindness. Please can we hold kindness in the same dimension of value as money?
Let us put our beautiful precious creatures into our accounting. And the forests, mountains and oceans.
When we begin to do this, when we begin to break out of the thinking that everything is worth “x” dollars, we begin to reform a relationship with creatures, Earth and the sacred. And ourselves. Like coming home.
Every time the impulse says, how much money is this worth…how much money is the tree worth, or the cow, river or forest, or your relationship with your best friend – refuse – as if your life depends upon it, to reduce the tree, cow, forest and relationship only to a dollar value. Ensure that the multidimensional domains of value are captured.
We can begin to do this now.
This is how we create a more beautiful world.
