Living adventure
Going places you have not been. Meeting people you do not know. Learning new skills.
When we were children everything was new and adventurous.
Then we settle into the routine of the mid-years. Safe. Secure.
We accumulate. Often off the back of work and sacrifice.
Our desire to risk goes down. There is a contraction and a clinging to keep the status quo.
Funny thing about status quo. It refuses to stay the same.
The trick of living is to weave adventure into a structure that holds the shape of our life.
To see our contraction and clinging is to know the places we need to let go.
