Moving past empire
This is an unusual post for Beauty of Beginnings. This speech by Kenya’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Martin Kimani, acknowledges our terrible colonising past and a way forward that is integral and towards peace, dismantling the patriarchal dominating culture that includes colonisation and exploitation as design features.
This perspective shows wisdom in navigating towards a better future for all humans, spoken by a representative who knows colonisation and exploitation intimately as one of its many casualties.
We must end the reign of the strongman and dominator.
