Naming that pierces through illusion
It is one of the things I love the most about enquiry and seeking to understand.Â
In a cloud of confusion, someone names something and the cloud disintegrates. The clarity is breathtaking.Â
This is context-dependent, meaning it is not true in all cases. Yet at that moment, perfect.
It is the simplicity on the other side of complexity.
Yet when we try to squeeze the naming into other contexts, it does not stick.
To speak truth to power we might name truth in that moment. It pierces. Shatters.Â
Transforms.Â
Often inconvenient, regularly uncomfortable to hear.
When someone gifts us a truth that shatters our own blindness, we have a chance to change.Â
Brave are they who speak the truth. Brave are those who accept the gift and move to change.
