One act of defiance
I have written about Little Atrocities over twenty times in the past five years.
The micro transgressions that are so so easy to step over. And in the act, pave the way for the next Little Atrocity until full-blown evil is present.
People close to me find me a pain in the arse when it comes to Little Atrocities. I will call them, every time.
Not because I want to be a pain in the arse. But because I know the first Little Atrocity is the generator function of the next Little Atrocity.
Therefore, the first one is the most dangerous.
Fascism, Nazi-ism, Hate, and Inequity do not happen in one full swoop. They happen over decades. One little transgression at a time.
Until here we are. The newest lie out of the mouths of the vampires and prostitutes of politics and corporate power is not even registered. Ho-hum.
The next twenty people killed in Gaza overnight are a yawn, skipped over during the scroll for something more salacious like what the felon did this time.
I was listening to someone living in the USA this week saying the wool has been pulled off the eyes of the people in the last few weeks. I wanted to scream.
The spell that was cast to reach today was woven decades, if not centuries, ago. And the signs have been there, just as they were in the nineteen-thirties in Europe.
Little Atrocities everywhere, accumulating for generations.
The Gulf of America, anyone? The big five tech companies busting to bend the knee on this one. Not innocuous. Terrifying.
The arrogance, domination and complete disregard for any other country in this renaming is sickening. Yet, it is a simple statement of sickness that has reached a stage beyond redemption.
If there is one act of defiance worthy of living, it is to be fierce in not stepping over Little Atrocities. Not yours. Not others.
Name them. Call them. Refuse to allow them to become. This is the revolutionary act.
