Out of the storm

I rarely get sick. I missed COVID.

I had thought I had done everything around self-care as my health has always been a number one priority. But the travel got me. Into a heap I went. Yesterday was the worst, just as I thought I was getting better.

This morning, it feels like the return to health has begun. Oh, joy.

And there there is this day.

We arrived at the beach later than usual. The sun was already up. A whale was breaching literally less than 100 metres off the beach, right beside some surfers. The beaches have had tons of sand accumulate based on tide, wind, and wave patterns. It is extremely shallow, making it very dangerous for surfing, with a super fast wave. Not my kind of conditions.

But so beautiful. Not too cold for midwinter, the ocean smooth as silk. The breeze refreshing.

Out of the storm of my mini health breakdown, into the glory of the most magnificent day. The contrast leaves me gasping.

When we stop and bow to Nature’s beauty, we find the path back to all-health, not just for me but for all life. She is the gift that keeps reminding us of our responsible stewardship of her.

My healing journey has received her very special medicine today. I am grateful.
