Selective outrage

The tricky thing about principles and integrity is that they need to be practised in all cases at all times.

Situational convenience doesn’t work. Turning a blind eye because it is convenient is turning a blind eye to things your principles and integrity say matter.

Selective outrage says a lot about character.

Yet cruelty is cruelty.

Corruption is corruption.

Exploitation is exploitation.

If we are to stand against cruelty, corruption and exploitation, we either do it in all cases or we are hypocrites.

Considering this, it might be that corruption lives in our homes. In our willingness to look away when it is convenient.

And to rage when it is convenient.

Integrity all the way up, down and through. When it is convenient, and when it is bloody hard.

Or, we get the world we have.

Which path do you choose?
