Silence can be deadly

Apr 23, 2022

Silence can be deadly

Those first words not spoken.

Builds a chasm.

That becomes the Grand Canyon.

Relationships do not break down in one fell swoop.

They break through words withheld when the sting is small and able to be resolved.

Repeated.

Until we build a story in our head that rots to the core.

Clean Communication asks us to speak to the stings and charges as they arise. Often the conversation is with ourselves, with our own issues. Many times it might mean we circle back to the other person or people and clarify, resolve assumptions, seek to understand.

To accumulate the unspoken words in our being is a slow death of toxic energy.

At some unforeseen point these words will surface in a violence that is breathtaking in its cruelty.

Speak to the small things, as they arise, as an act of kindness, care, love and dignity to yourself and others.
