Structure to create maximum creativity.
What is yours?
While getting up at 4 AM every morning might sound exhausting, I spend the first 90 minutes of my day outdoors, no matter the weather, doing something hard and physical.
A 35-year practice, 365 days of the year.
By 7 AM I have exercise in the bank, outdoor time, usually a sunrise witnessed, a blog written, urgent emails responded to, and coffee with my love.Â
The structure of my morning sets me up for the day. No matter what happens, I have this in my self-care bank account.Â
Not doing this morning routine and I feel sluggish, off-kilter, out of flow.
At the other end of the day, I ensure I go to bed early enough to get a good 8-hour sleep after a light but nutritious meal.
Between the morning and the evening routines a million things can happen, often unstructured.Â
But the framework and the constancy of its application give me the necessary structure to be maximally creative.
What is your creativity structure?
