Taking my word, or anyone else, as the only way

Please don’t!

It is a sad road to switch out one oppressor with a more progressive oppressor not realising we are still oppressed.

For many of my early years I placed others on pedestals. Many others. Then less. Now finally no one.

Putting anyone on a pedestal, giving them more authority over us than we have over ourselves, is also surrendering them to the law of Gravity.

There is only one way down. The higher the pedestal the bigger the fall, the greater the disappointment.

Realising this finally I determined that I would do everything I could to never have anyone put me on a pedestal. I want you to know I am human, flawed, imperfect…sometimes stubborn, often swollen in my own righteousness, many times wrong, with occasional spikes of anger.

I am working to clean up my own act first. Working to not shift blame, to take my piece of the responsible pie. To be held to account. To be invited to consider my shadow.

In a world that thrives financially on spin, gloss, glamour, and AI powered propaganda, to surrender our deep knowing to another authority is not something to be surrendered lightly.

Our freedom lies in our own direct experience, our own willingness to be wrong, to make mistakes, to be imperfect. To keep asking questions, to keep exploring perspectives.
