The burden of proof
If I have enough fame I can make up preposterous stories and many will believe me.
That does not make my preposterous story true.
We have a scientific method for a reason. It is to test, retest and validate a theory.
Our love of fame and drama has created a culture addicted to fabricated, unsubstantiated fantasy.
Just because someone says it is true or false, even if they can produce written evidence from one thousand sources, we cannot allow capture. In a world of AI, it takes a few keystrokes to produce volumes of ‘scientific research.’ I know people who do this trick exceedingly well.
The burden of proof is on us. What are we seeing? What is our experience? What is our bias?
Our world is burning. Do you feel it yet?
