The dark magician

With a feint of hand the dark magician keeps our focus distracted so they can deceive us into believing something unbelievable.

Many of our current politicians are magicians and entertainers, not remotely interested in public policy.

They love the stage. The power. The adulation.

This is their drug. 

They care not about the damage they do or the people they are supposed to serve. Just so long as they have fawning fans addicted to the drug of their magic hands. 

Any news that features them is good news for them.

Their whole life is an act of insincerity and obfuscation.

Public policy is something they make up as they keep their fans hooked on the spell.

The spell can be broken, but only if we stop feeding these hollow people a position on centre stage. 

Ignoring them completely starves them of their drug of choice. 

Knowing them for the sham they are helps. Recognising the danger they hold in their magic hands is necessary. 

An excellent education for all children matters to stop their rise again.

Will history ever be our teacher?
