The next step
All learning is a progression. Children stay the path, focused on where they are. Adults often expect to be further along the path and get frustrated when they are not.
Patience plus commitment are key.
When it is time to learn the next step, it will reveal itself.
Pushing past the next step is to dishonour the process.
Attunement to timing, progression and the delicacy of the next step is a rare skill.
We might do better to invest in learning the skill of deep listening to the step to be taken next.
