The path to love

Within each of us lives so many characters. Every human is complex, with a different part of us showing up based on the scenario we find ourselves in.

We can know someone for a long time before one of these characters makes itself known.

A friend might betray. A partner might turn nasty.

One of our inner selves can stun us with its welcome or unwelcome arrival, after years or decades of hiding.

Our voice might speak from such a depth that time stands still. Or our rage might finally gather itself into a force that cannot be ignored.

So often we spend our younger days seeking to ignore, deny and suppress some of the characters who are the fabric of our being. Anything kept in the shadow will find a way into the light.

Better to make friends with all parts of us. To gather ourselves into the circle of our sovereign light. To be sovereign over the strays and vengeful aspects of ourselves, seeking instead to support their needs in a way that does not cause havoc. 

This is to begin to love the whole of ourselves. Like any symphony of synergy, we are beautiful for the whole.
