The simple act of good manners.

Teaching a child good manners is teaching them that there is a world that does not centre around them filled with other people.

To consider the other, to show respect, to be thoughtful..this is the impulse that lives behind good manners.

Do unto others.

To treat the other with at least as much dignity as you would like to be treated.

It is a simple practice, yet it requires a Copernican shift.

We walk upon the Earth, not as dominators, but as recipients of its many gifts. Without Earth we are nothing. Earth without humans will thrive.

Without the other we are nothing.

Thank you for your gifts, for being here.
