There is freedom in thinking
Yet so many people have relinquished their thinking to AI.
All the while, the beast of AI, led by the monopolist companies, scraps all the works of authors and researchers, decades of work, and uses it to make money, not a single care for their exploitation.
The in-real-time colonisation of writers, artists and thinkers.
Technology should always and only be a tool to serve better for all.
Our addiction to tech, our race to outsource thinking to a platform of exploitation and colonisation, is as egregious as rape and pillage of colonised lands to profit the few.
We are the blind sheep, following the pied piper off the cliff.
And in the process, our ability to think critically, to make sense of things, to seek truth, will be eroded further.
I am not anti-AI. I am anti ALL forms of exploitation and colonisation. The old kind, happening now in Palestine, using modern technology to drone the faces of the ‘enemy’, and the new kind, the extraction of human knowledge right out from under those who created it.
If we reach for the AI tool, be mindful of your participation in exploitation and expropriation. The all-in-accounting cost, if at all considered, would make AI as a tool a bankrupt entity from the get-go. Capitalism requires extraction and exploitation to exist. We are the targets and the fodder.
The capitalist hate capitalism. They desire monopolisation. And they have it.
