Things I am not doing anymore
The idea is to make a list of the things you are not doing anymore. Actual things, or thought patterns or responses.
Want to give it a go?
Here is my first round.
Saying yes to meeting times that have me rushing to make it, which stresses me. It feeds a thought pattern that there is not enough time. There is enough time.
Allowing my anger to become toxic. Instead, notice, love it and let it go. Life is too short to be bitter. There is so much beauty and goodness to notice instead.
Feeling guilty doing massive couch time on the weekend, reading novels or watching movies. It is good for my soul, my body and my mind.
Being at war with the surf. When I take a mindset into the water of a battleground with the waves, rather than being a partner, it becomes so. My partner Tony pointed this out to me this morning. How good is it to have people in your corner who name our blind spots.
Allowing myself to become trapped in the seduction of the scroll on Twitter. I know the dopamine hits of more come when I feel righteous. Righteousness is my drug of choice. “See, I am right.” My inner words say, with that little smug glut of satisfaction. Rather, to see this love of righteousness as the source code of superiority. The very superiority that seeds the breaking of all life.
**I read about creating this list while reading Nathan Barry’s newsletter. Nathan is the founder and CEO of Kit, my CRM. I love Kit. Their operating system is very aligned with Syntropic in many ways. The idea is to build a list of everything you are not doing anymore, and check it each month to keep you ON it. Not a wish, not a promise, but a commitment. https://syntropic.world/the-language-of-commitment-choose-wisely/
