To know in our body being
To criticise from the stalls is easy. We can be brilliant in our opinions and judgements.
To be an active participant, to get into the arena, is to experience a whole different world.
Until someone has done the work, been in the arena, contributed actively to that which is being created, rights of criticism might be held at arm’s length. We cannot know until we know in our body being.
People from privilege of any form can be compassionate, but to criticise those who have never had access, without spending days, weeks, or months living the life of no privilege is a statement of ignorance, hubris and disrespect.
To be watchful in ourselves of the nuance of how we do this is a daily practice.
Each of us looks to the sunrise and sees it uniquely. This is our beauty and our challenge.
