Unstructured free time
Nothing to be done. No list. No scheduled meetings, even social ones.
The pull of that great mystery, boredom, the evil of our current world, seen as shameful, or something to be afraid of.
Yet by crossing the threshold of boredom, we might find pools of creativity. Connections made in free-floating thinking, in walking a beach, in watching motes of light.
Daydreaming.
Found fishing. Running. Walking. Weeding the garden.
The shame is we hold this unstructured time as lazy.
Lazy is indolence, a self-sabotaging mechanism that stops us living our best life.
Unstructured time is vital to our health.
